Ms. Yanfang Song has over 15 years of experience in GIS and Remote Sensing, resolution mapping, and map digitalization. She has the manager in daily data production and GIS service development at HUICData.

Ms. Song is the co-founder of HUICData Services Ltd. She is also Senior GIS Engineer and programmer. She has been project manager or senior engineer for numerous GIS and general data development projects, such as Hong Kong Cadastral Map Database development project, Haikou Urban Information System project, Thomas Bros. Maps project, etc.

Ms. Song has received college education in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing at Wuhan University of Geodesy and Geomatics. She is also among the first GIS users and developers. She is an expert user of ESRI products and senior developer and programmer using a variety of different GIS platforms.

Ms. Song was one of the key members for the Thomas Bros. Maps project that went on for more than four years. The project team at HUICdata edited and updated thousands of map sheets used to produce Thomas Guide. Major GIS tasks include: add new geographic features; edit short arcs, dangles, pseudo nodes, etc.; build topology, update attribute table, etc. All edits were aligned and overlaid to 12 other base layers, such as street center lines, highway shields, administrative boundaries, and hydrology etc.

As the senior engineer of Haikou Urban Information Center, she participated in the development of Haikou Urban Planning Information System and Haikou Space-Orientation Database. She was responsible for designing and developing GIS database and data structure. The project received Technology Advancement Award of Hai Nan Province, and Ms. Song won the award of Technology Advancement as an individual;

Ms. Song supervised Hong Kong Cadastral Map Database and the earlier analysis & production of characteristic data processing;

In 4th Mapping Team (aerial survey) of Mapping Bureau of Heilongjiang Province, she engaged in data collection using GPS & Survey instruments, image processing and map taking, resolution mapping, map digitalization, etc. During this period, she assisted in the research project—1:50000 map for the whole province, and the project was awarded Technology Advancement of Heilongjiang Province.
